A bit off-the-wall, but....

The question isn't "Why?"

The question is "Why the hell not?" It wouldn't be the first petrol engine refitted for diesel. Shoot, the V8 in our HMMWVs are nothing more than a converted petrol engine.
 
I had actually thought of building a small bike with a Diesel engine from a small generator I had. No telling what kind of mileage you would get outta that thing!
 
Why not indeed. Just trying to think what would actually be improved by it. Torque and fuel economy I guess. Would have thought both could be achieved by other means without the obvious down side(s). Sure would be different though. You probably have to put a backing up beeper on it too, to complete the overall effect.
 
This wasnt really my fault and ah well some of me mates call me diesel.i know these things

I still ask why? I don't know about Germany but there's still alot of unleaded petrol in Australia and untill it runs out I'll be workin on other things in my shed.
 
No Thanks I have a mate here in the bay has a Royal Enfield with a 400cc diesel, flat it will get up to 80kmh on the flat 100kmh down hill with a tail wind
