Looking at the chart for the 20k service and valve check is not until 30,000? am I reading that wrong ( just lookign at the chart it would indicate 10 and 30 as valve check time)

problem is I don't think this bike had the 10,000 mile check done.

I think I'll do it myself to be sure, but I was certain it was every 10,000

the chart has boxes to check for every 10,000, every 20,000 etc

I just didn't have my manual handy at work.

I'm about to do a really good service, final drive oil change, coolant change , oil and filter, and thought Id check the valves since I ride it pretty hard.

I need to find a source of the triumph oil or equivalant to buy in 55 gallon drums!!! I ordered a jug cheap from MADSS and got free shipping but I don't see the Triumph 4t any more on the site.

Tiger is at 10,000, specs say 12,000 for next oil change and service on it.

ok looks like I was reading the chart correctly...

I will be doing the final drive.

and it says I need to lube the headstock.

so I guess its off to find the service manual when i get home to see whats involved in that.

I just don't trust a dealer to actually do all the work.

I think most just glance at the bike and change the oil to be honest

according to the Tiger forum

You can also use a Purolator F20011 fuel filter to replace your stock Triumph one. Same size, same fittings, good all the way around. They're a high quality unit and can be found at your local parts store for around $6. I've been running one in the Sprint for about 6k miles

Anybody know if they are the same size? most triumph stuff is the same,

I'll report back to let everyone know if it works.

figured I can remove mine and take it to auto store to see.

Mine goes in to the dealer tomorrow for the $$$$$20,000 mile$$$$$$ job

can't say that I'm excited to pay for this, but I trust my dealer and have had nothing but good experiences with them so.....

So the 20,000 mile service

All fluids changed, all filters changed. valve clearance checked and etc misc stuff.... new brake fluid and pads

total bill after tax

$760

I have owned two bikes that cost less than this service did

thats not too bad, seeing labor can run from 65-90 an hour depending on local rates.

My local shop is 66 an hour I think.

for my 20,000 I plan on doing valves/all fluids ( brake and fork as well) and swapping to heavier springs in front forks, and maybe soem cam swapping

Does the Purolator F20011 fuel filter work in the Rocket? Did a search, couldn't find an answer.

Does the cam cover gasket really need to be replaced after each use? I don't mind spending the money, do mind spending the time waiting for it to get here.

bump.....cause I would like to know bout this filter also..I bet it will work..had my valves checked 10,000...not gonna do it again until at least 30..
