it was not carpenters fault my friend had ask me about the manual timing adjuster and before i could get back to him he said that he was hearing a noise and had set it one and one half turns in. i have not pulled the front so i assume that it broke one or both of the guides. so all i know is all of the exhaust valves hit the pistons and are bent and stuck down about 1/4 inch

Hey Herman have you pulled the tensioner out of the engine yet. I figured it wouldn't matter with the bent valves. I'd be curious to look in the hole and see if there is a shoe on the cam chain guide ?

seems like i have been busy with the shop work that i have not checked it out i also figure it blowed the guides. all of the exhaust valves are open and bent.
i would like to get that motor fixed and in my 07 before i am to old to ride.

i think that is a good idea and not much work
i would guess that it has about 6 inches of clearance

Ya just curious If my memory is still there I believe Steel broke his exhaust cam on his carpenter roadster. I didn't know of you had the cam cover off or not yet.
