2012 R3 Offerings

somewhere between the original posting and the ammendment, i got lost. mister jack daniels has that effect on me though. anyway, i hope they have something other than the touring and the black one, either shiny or flat black to offer in 2012.

On page 2, the last one listed: Rocket III Touring "SE" is the one that is giving a couple of us (so far) a little hope.

Since they are already including around $2,600 or so of accessories with the current R3 Touring the speculation will zero in on whether the SE means a top box trunk, a fairing, a stereo, cruise control...just don't know yet.

Booger Dave mentioned, in an earlier posting a couple of weeks back, that our dealer in common (D&D Cycles, Pensacola, FL) said that "supposedly" the R3 Touring was not going to be back for the 2012 year...the blurb mentioned here seems to hint that this observation (a phone call with Triumph) may not be true and that something this SE or "Special Extra" (my wording...probably Special Edition I'm sure) may offer something a little (or a lot) more.

Hopefully there will be more news shortly...now on to "Google land" to see if there is anything there.

being slightly pessimistic, the "SE" doesn't sound like a lot. If Triumph stays true to form then it means nothing has changed other than some additional bling is added as standard equipment.

I'm not holding much hope that there will be a full, fixed fairing with an onboard factory audio system installed. Maybe the much requested factory cruise control may appear but I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe the standard Touring will go back to being just a Standard with the "SE" being the blinged up version like this year.
