2007 Classic Carpenter Dreaded Click

Remove the starter solenoid and clean the plunger and contacts.....they will be pitted
The rebuild shop did that when they told me that was all they could find marginally wrong, they said this shouldn't stop it from working properly. It didn't help me at all.

You need to do the extra relay like rocket scientist has posted
now if you want to prove that is the problem then you can run a hot wire to the starter solenoid terminal
This will bypass all safetys including the clutch so make sure it is in nuetral

Ok guys and girls, went to the garage, Silverback connected to battery tender, pushed the button and guess what?? CLICK!!!!:mad::mad:My spare unmolested rocket is doing just fine, i may just throw the bad one in the trash can and forget about it,,,

On the quest of fixing the click, this battery was tested by pros and found to be in good standing, now, how low does it supposed to go when you push the starter button? It goes from 12.5 to 9 and sometimes to 8.7 when i hit the starter. Its 70 degrees so the monster woke up, still clicked twice in between several starts. But it does seem to not like cold weather, like i said before it has less than 9000 miles

Is this the starter relay?

I'm pretty sure the voltage isn't supposed to drop that low. That does look like starter relay, 5 pins?
Yes, 5 pin, i switched and did the same thing, then i jumped the relay directly to the battery and it has a healthy spin, i then put it on a 5 amp charger as a tender and it has not clicked since, looks like a bad battery combined with cold weather
