2006 Skipping out of Second Gear

Just curious. Would you say that you hit 2nd gear at high rpm/red line fairly often? Or rarely, over the years?

Id Guess redline in second gear 10 times in 14,000 miles, I find my Harley buddies only seem to want to "run em" once

I had a BMW K1200GT that Warren Buffet could not afford to keep on the road. That bike was one repair away from getting Ghost Ridden off the Boat ramp into the river and reported Stolen

Triumph gives 16 hours to do the update kit which in my opinion is pushing it. 24 hours would be more realistic so things are done right. 209 for the kit including the rear output bearing which you should replace while your in there.

I still can't figure out how it could possibly catch again with no grinding or explosion of parts under all that power. I thought it was an engine misfire at first.

They say the more common Problem is obviously exploding a gear or going right back to neutral. Shifting HARD into second (from First) helped allot for a long time, however now it has gotten very common with maybe 6-8 episodes in 140 miles yesterday and coming back onto power after downshifting it is about a 50% proposition skips twice Bam Bam then off you go. Once it skips you cannot make i skip again which is to me weird also/ if it happens you can do whatever it will not happen again until you leave and return to second gear, and only then occasionally.. Im sure if I wanted to and layed on it HARD it would scatter with that jumping crap and the power on hard..

My 06 jumps out of 2nd every time i shift if I'm gettin on it so I just shift at 3k or so and start gettin on her after then.

My problem is being an ASE certified diesel tech and working in bike shops for years. I can't stand riding it F'd up. I'd rather not ride. Which I'm sure is a very expensive way to operate. I do a descent amount of long trips. Worry about getting stranded.

I tried that, made it to St Louis, then 5th started grinding, then 5th wouldn't go in at all, then it locked up and stalled around 5 mph, wouldn't recommend doing that for very long.....

darn, I guess I can fix her or trade her, but I remember bringing this up when I bought it last year and the general advice was shift firmly and it shiuld be fine.
