12v switched pick off

Yes, I read your post, thank you. I remain a bit nervous about cutting wires and impacting warranty. I have already has two recalls and over 1/2 dozen trips to the dealer on the rear brake issue. Giving then ANY excuse to void warranty is something to avoid.
Second possibility is to use a 5V relay which is supplied through the usb under the seat.
The switched contacts have to be connected to the battery and the consumer (fused). Positiv: didn't have have a permanent drain (only when turned on).
Notice that you have to add a diode antiparallel to the supply voltage of the relay for the peaks of the relay

I looked at the USB but it’s does not work. That’s for the next service call. There is a second USB in front of gas tank that I was going to order the cable for but the manual implies they both are powered on even when the bike is off. Something I was going to check.

There is no second usb in the front
There is an connector left to the Speedo
Both - connector and usb under the seat - are only supplied when powered on
I thought that's what you are looking for?
I would get the usb under the seat fixed and use this
Or the supply of the front-connector under the windscreen
For what do you the switched supply?

You’re correct, it’s a “Electrical Accessory Socket” in front of the tank.

I am in need of a place to pick up 12v when the motorcycle is turned on ONLY. Somewhere under the seat would be best. I don't need much current.
All the fuses in the fuse block have 12v present all the time.
Suggestions?
Thanks!
I just had the same thing. I went with a HealTech Thunderbox. I got mine on Ebay. you hook to battery positive and negative and then run the wire to it. It turns your accessory on when the engine starts and off when you turn it off. It detects the load on the battery.
