10k service

Hard to believe, but it does.

The dealer--and other Triumph owners--will tell you that you"can" change to oil more frequently, but it's not necessary.

It's funny, really, looking at the differences between dealers. Some MUST adjust the valves...almost 100% of the Rockets coming in for the 10k service "require" valve adjustments. Others tell the owners that the valves were fine and charge for the oil and other service.

And the cost differences, with or without the valve adjustments can vary greatly. I've called a few already on my route from Dan Diego to Key West. $450-850.

Is there no shame?

Just had mine adjusted, a few were tight. Labor rate was 75.50/hr and I got charges for 2.5 hours plus tax.

May get the work done in Augusta, Maine, as I'm passing through there at about the 10k mark.

Also rec'd a reasonable (the lowest yet) estimate from Detroit Triumph. I may as well git 'er done there since I'm rolling through.
