I have had my eye on a 2023 Toyota GR Corolla
3 banger 1.6l with a turbo makes 300 HP

Its just insane what can be done with new tech in ICE's
Just thought that was cute how our 2.3 and 2.5 Liter rockets need massive superchargers to get past 300hp and this engine does it in MORE than half the displacement and still averages 21 mpg in a vehicle that is more than 3 times heavier!

I really want to buy one when the market stops being stupid!

Can i drive it?

Second clue: Turbo
Yes bit turbo and supercharger rockets barely make 300hp at twice the displacement. Side from a handful of 360hp beasts.... just saying that it should logically be a 600 hp 2.5 not a 360 hp 2.5 when the 1.6 makes 300
And to boot probably will make twice the milage at half the maintenance issues!

300 at the crank....258 at the wheel.

At 1.6l and 26 PSI, it's functionally a 2.9l engine.

My JCW mini does 230whp/270lbft at 21 PSI from a 1.6, so I have a good basis for comparison.

258 is impressive for a stock small engine. Will still get dusted by a bone stock 2005 Rocket Standard with 126whp.

Cars vs bikes, not really a good comparison.

A 2.5 or 2.3 l is a car engine... just saying!
for the sake of debate, 1.6l at 26 psi is a 2.7L

Just saying that the highest power rocket right now is the TTS performance built supercharged 2023. Its 342HP at the wheels and is running 1 bar (14.5psi) If you some how made this apples to apples the toyota 1.6l wins HANDS DOWN for power to displacement ratio by a mile! And this engine is not new tech but certainly produced within the same few years! Its just cool that its a 3 cylinder thats thumping skuls and taking names compared to anyting close to its wight and power output.

the rocket was literally started by the old "lets put a car engine into a motorcycle"
