I bought a preowned 2005 Rocket in January 2007 with 6,000 miles. Since then I did everything possible to have the feeling that the engine runs smoothly. I actually got little fluctuating idle pattern, some "hesitating" engine operation with a constant low throttle opening while riding and small...

:o HI - JUST WONDERING IF YOU COULD HELP ME OUT. I BOUGHT A 2006 ROCKET RECENTLY AND I AM HAVING PROBLEMS LOCATING THE ENGINE NUMBER. COULD YOU TELL ME WHERE IT IS LOCATED ON THE ENGINE BLOCK
Hi all. Having a little issue. In very cold weather (like -10C), the beast is not easy to start. It won't fire on first round of crank (approx. 2 secs of turn). Second try and it pops and sputters, but doesn't usually hold. Third round does the trick. Then, for at least 60 seconds, it...
I'm still trying to ascertain what or where the engine build number is. The only number referred to is the serial number on the right side case so if one assumes the engine build number is incorporated therein, it must be the last 6 numbers as the first numbers are the origin and model number...

20050_3's ignition is retarded 3 degrees in all cells from 2,000 RPMs to 7,000 RPMs in the 50% to 100% throttle position while 20145_1's ignition is retarded 3 degrees in the same fashion except the retarding starts at 2,200 RPMs instead of 2,000 RPMs.
If you put Jardines and triples (foam or...
Are there any other more affordable options out there without worrying about clutch slippage? Any of you guys using BMW synthetic15W50 or Golden Spectro 10W40 semi-synthetic?
So what is the story on the crash bars/engine guards? I've seen several different posts on the Triumph and the Rivco's, neither one have struck me as doing much to keep the bike from being damaged. It seems like they "lessen" the damage but might not be as functional as we would like.
Anybody...
Does anyone know if other highway brackets for highway pegs, will work on the Rivco engine guards? I really like the Harley ones I have they are very sturdy and dont say Harley so they wont be out of place and I am planning on having some Kuryakyn pegs adapted for them.
Freak
Has anyone had experience with both types of engine guards (Rivco or Triumph) for the Rocket 3. The Triumph brand sticks out farther, any problem with cornering? Do the Rivco ones protect enough? Which one is stronger, or are they about the same.
