lean or rich, maybe something else?

I didn't get a chance to report my test ride results last night. It still stalls out as it did before, but now seems a bit harder to start and I swear it idles higher. When I adjusted the stepper motor nut, I had to back it out. The amount I turned it out would most certainly have used up...

lean or rich, maybe something else?

My TPS was around .05v off, and took about 2 turns of the idle motor nut to bring into spec. I believe I now need to adjust the arm that rides the idle motor, correct? is there a tutorial somewhere for that? I followed TuneECU TPS and ISC Stepper Adjustment - Triumph Forum: Triumph Rat...

lean or rich, maybe something else?

Maybe this is related and maybe not. I had my handlebars *all* apart as I was attempting to mount a set of riser blocks and got the wrong ones. So silly me I followed the directions as best I could figuring they were the type where one set of instructions covered multiple...

It will idle in first or neutral if I start it there, it seems to be the transition from first to neutral or neutral to first. It seems to fair a little better going into first than coming out. If it were carbureted I would say the idle is set too low. Do I have to reset the adaptive to do...

Can I make TORS louder? Removing the baffles?

The TORS are just glass packs. If you want more sound out of them, get rid of the glass. I've been told that back in the day one would put some oil or other such fuel in them and light them on fire. Sit with a hose and spray them every now and again to keep the chrome from coloring. The...

    Got a hic up

I've never really had to work on a points type ignition that had a condensor, but in college I pondered hard over the condensor. Its to take up the counter EMF from the primary coil. When that coil discharges, the secondary coil induce a voltage in the primary and that has to go somewhere...

lean or rich, maybe something else?

I got to take the bike for a test run last night after a few weeks of crazy crazy running home life. I've got PowerTripp's tune in the ECU and I made a matching tune to load in my PCV+AT. The test run last night went great. Everything seemed to be running very good except for one thing...

    Strange sound

I put matching maps in the ECU and the PCV+AT. The twelve minute tune teaches the ECU the idle setting for the throttle sensor.

    Strange sound

While doing the twelve minute tune last night after loading a map to my ecu and PCV-AT I heard a strange sound coming from the throttle bodies. It is an intermittent buzzing very similar to the buzz when the bike is first turned on. I do not know if it has always been there or if it is...

What is the best throttle lock to buy

A wrist saver or whatever they are called and I really really like my Brake Away throttle lock. Absolutely the best solution short of electronic cruise control. I've used the old school plastic throttle locks and a Throttlemeister friction type bar end lock. Brake Away is leaps and bounds...

    bike is stalling and coughing

I reset the adaptives and did the 12 minute tune to reset the TPS idle point. Hopefully that cures most of the trouble. If it continues I will have a new gear switch ordered and install that. Thanks everyone!

    Disable F-L switch

I am getting back into my Rocket after being out for several years and am looking to get my PCV-AT back into running order. For quite some time i have been running a zero map in the PCV-AT and Power-Tripp's free R3T tune in the ECU. I have read that the F-L table switch should be disabled...

    Power-tripp tune for PCV

Hello! I am just getting back into motorcycling as my children are now old enough to stay home alone during the summer. It has been a while since I tinkered, and have forgotten quite a bit. I have just re-loaded Power-Tripp's free tune for R3Ts and currently have a zero map in my PCV-AT...

    bike is stalling and coughing

After a few miles last night the neutral indicator went out and the bike did seem to run better, but I still experienced the engine dieing at idle. I got my tune ecu installed on my new laptop and checked and all i could find for codes was a canbus failure. I cleared all the codes and...

    bike is stalling and coughing

Last night the wife and I went for a scoot around town and the local area. A large portion of the ride was a 'Sunday Drive' so 15mph in first gear. The bike ran fine as always, but when I came to a stop it started stalling. After about 30 minutes the neutral light stayed on no matter the...

    R3T derestricting

Joe, what are the changes to the revised map? I have the original from powertripp from way back when, but I must have missed what the changes are as I read through this thread. Or maybe I did see them and my poor memory is kicking in. Regardless, I have the original in my ECU at the moment...
