1/8mi drag race Touring vs the GT

Kevin it looks like both of you are waiting for green to launch. You can achieve better reaction times if you try to launch on the 3rd yellow.
Yes reaction time was awful all 4 races, it was 9pm at night and reflexes were probably a little slowed by that time of night, 😁😎 i start early 😂 .690 will not cut it!

Nothing like practice, the more you stage you'll find your sweet spot, whether shallow, deep or mid. Then you can determine leaving time, depending on how bike hooks up. Secret: you can't always hit a perfect light, but you always try, and sometimes it goes red.

Drag racing sometimes is like hitting a golf ball perfectly. You know what to do but the slightest difference in technique changes the result tremendously.

Reaction times and good 60 foot times pay big dividends down the track especially in the quarter mile as you know.

Consistent reaction times between .060 to .080 is an achievable goal with continued practice. Track temperatures, preparation, tire pressure, lane placement make the rpm launch critical for good 60 foot times.

For me aligning a steady rpm and clutch friction zone just short of moving the bike forward helps the launch and 60 foot time. When I'm right which isn't very often nowadays, I release the clutch just as the 3rd yellow light is going out.

Drag racing isn't hard but doing it well is a real *****. Racers sitting the stands who have never tried drag racing have no credibility with me.

.060 to .080 copy that. 11 was my competition, i am BIKE and 090. Pretty consistent just slow. I feel like i can correct alot of stuff and i hope will mean faster.

Kevin getting consistent is what you want. Now you can try different ways to improve your RTs. Sometimes I've improved my RTs and sacrificed too much and it cost me on the 60 foot.

If they let you mount a couple gopros I've found the footage helpful to me to correct my mistakes. Bill probably will take his T120 out to the drag strip in a few days I'm going out as a spectator. Keep up the good work you'll find your groove.

These are my 3 runs last weekend. Im on the right. What should i put on bike for et.. i will be et racing this Saturday. Reaction times were close last week .6909 .6210 and .7198, goal is consistently launch in .5 zone. Sixty foots 1.9470 1.9670 2.1192 (wheel hop out the gate, too much clutch let out on 3rd run) so help with a dial in time @Sparky59 et is yo game 😎. Ets were 7.6330 7.9299 8.1043 my goal is to run in 6s tomorrow. 6.8 or so is doable. I got clutch creep straitened out with knurl adjustment. More weight off bike and me😁. Im ready.

Kevin good information. Going from a 7.6330 ET to a 6.80 is a huge jump. I'm guessing you'll need to drop 60 foot time into the 1,8s, a 330 foot 4.77 would get you about 7.0 in the one eighth mile and would about 10.8 quarter mile. Good luck👍👍

Thanks im ready. Gonna give it the ole college try 🤪 youll gonna hear me this week and not that harley, trust me😎 this will be last week for this tire, im fixing to smoke it down to the cords tomorrow tonight.
