How many miles per tank??? not sure it varies. All I know is when the little light comes on I start riding like a decent human being, calm down and not worry for 30 miles. Twist the wrist, burn the gas, broaden the smile .

I do notice a significant difference in fuel economy at 70 mph as compared to 55. I run whatever is posted, but I breath easier on the side roads if the tank is less than full.

Coming in here, a week late (almost), but "you're right", and this has been my experience on the R3T, also... and on virtually every bike I've owned, in fact, but I expected less of the "70mph+" effect on this big mill. There is an exponential factor on speed increase/throttle used on any bike (or vehicle, I suppose, to variance of degree), but I really didn't expect the spread to be quite as much on the R3T... interesting....

My 2014 R3T gets about 185-195 on highway trips before the derestricting tune. With the tune I get around 165 on highway. Around town it gets about 135 to 150. These are fillups with 5.5 or more gallons.

Your "pre-tune" mileage per tank is about what I get, and a lot of "through town" start-n-stop stuff will really knock it down. In my estimation, the best road fuel mileage is achieved at 60 or less (assuming you're on back roads, etc., where one can actually only make 60 mph or less, obviously).

Having been manipulating the ECU and doing 12 minute tunes, I have had to spend quite some time riding to figure out current mpg, the fiddling and fettling using up it's share of gas. I see that I am little over 30mpg if I am keeping it at or under 60. A little less if I hit the hiway. A sustained hiway ride might be better than I am presently seeing, however.

I work on hours..... two to be precise!!!!
Now I've had 420kms out of mine on a club ride sitting on 90km/h....boring, 320, cruising, 280 towing the trailer and 150 but it was worth the smile.
I don't like my light to come on as fuel also cools your injectors... they don't like being hot and nor do I!!!!! Hence 2hrs, time for fuel, water, smoke and stretch the legs......

Just wondering how many miles per tank ya'll are getting? Do ya run em till to fuel light comes on. Not used to not having fuel gage.
On average about 100 miles between fill up to fuel light then I test my luck for about another 15-20 miles before chicken out and fill up

I remember one time I filled up in Soo Michigan and crossed the border and drove to Sudbury which was about 330 Km. I don't know how much further I could have gone, I just didn't want to take a chance. By the way is this like a diesel, in that you should never run them dry as you may damage the fuel pump?

my rocket 3 used to 180 miles when i filled it to the brim. now petrol price has increased it only does 150 miles:p
