So they are prepping the R3R, new tires etc and I want to have them put Moly on all of the splines.

I don't have a manuel so I don't have a very clear understanding of what needs to be done.

I found here that the swing arm needs to be pulled that way both ends of the drive shaft can be accessed.

The rear splines are the ones really in need of the moly, more so than the front.

So does that do it, splines front and rear?

Thanks

There are splines up front and in the differential (it's called something else but I forget what it's called). Undo the nuts holding the shafts in place. Pull the caliper and the axle, roll the assembly out then the diff just pulls right out of the wheel. Clean it up and brush the lube on the splines. Easy peas you. I used a piece of cotton cord with a knot tied in it to line up the driveline when reinstalling. Once the splines are aligned pull the cord out and push her home.

You only need to lubricate the rear spline on the drive shaft. This does require removing the bevel box/differential which is four bolts plus the left rear shock bolts. Loose on top and off on the bottom and you should be able to slide the bottom of the shock off the post. Clean and lube spline inside the axle tube (male) and the female spline on the bevel box. Don't be afraid to drop a tablespoon of moly in the spline cup before going back together with her. It's about a 10 minute job if the wheel is already off.
