Wiring diagram for a rocket

Ok bear with me, Mr Triumph likes playing games here is the correct wiring if using a 7 pin flat Aussie plug, I will keep it as simple as possible

Trailer plug................................................................ Triumph
pin #& funtion........ trailerwire colour........... wire colour on main harness side of plug

1 LH indicator............. Yellow............................. Green with Red stripe
2 not used**............. (Black)
3 Earth .........................White.............................. black (I used plate light plug)
4 RH indicator ................Green............................. Green with White Stripe
5 not used ***........... (Blue)
6 Brake Light................. Red .....................................Blue
7 Tail Light.................... Brown.......................... Yellow if taken from plate Light Plug
..........................................................................or Red if taken from Tail light Plug

** only used if you are fitting reversing lights (no we dont ride Glodwings)
*** only used if you want to use Electric brakes or Auxilery power in trailer
I Hope this helps, not sure exactly if plugs will be in the same place on a Touring but on a Std or Classic they are adjacent to ECU just tucked in behind metal tongue, under right hand side cover

please note the pin numbers do not run in order across the plug

Wish I had this info before wiring up my trailer plug.

Will keep it in a safe place now for future reference.

Wiring

How's it going hanso when we first wired the trailer up to the bike every thing worked as it should have except the blinker's they would flash once & that was it had to disconect the plug from the bike & the bike's blinker's started to work again a clouple of mate's have said that the bike could not handle the extra load meaning the trailer light's. It has been suggested that i change the trailer light's to l.e.d because they don't require a lot of power to run them which i will do.

it is possible that is the cause but I could not tell you as I had already changed my campers taillights to LED's before I bought the Rocket, and considering some of the other lighting wiring is underbuilt (eg headlights) on the rocket, I would try making a test light and using the centre pin (earth) and one of the outer pins (left and right indicators) and see if it still does the same if it doesnt there may be a wiring prob if the light does only flash the one time it could be one of two things 1 the relay can not cope with the load (try a nonload sensitive relay) or 2 there is excessive load on system but this seems strange

The more I think of it the more I am starting to think it might be the relay

You have to put a sub harness on these beasts to handle the extra load on the wiring. Sub harness wires directly into the battery and a relay, controlled by bike wiring, takes the load of the trailer power.
