I have the same problem with rodents every autumn, my house is next to a corn field. When first winter freeze comes, mice try to move inside the house to survive the winter. I have two cats who are great hunters - rodents keep them busy (just in case: get the tricolor cat, these are the best predators). So only the few best rodents make it inside, typically garage, where doors are left open for longer time during the weekend work or so. These few are somehow intelligent and not easy to catch. What works 100% is the glue trap - they simply can not resist the food and the glue trap has no smell and is not visible obstacle. Just do not show it to your wife or kids once trapped. As much women hate mice (never understood why), they equally hate the idea of killing it.
