I'm having a local automotive accessory shop (Ratco in Yaphank,Long Island) make me a new set of windshield brakets to bring the windshield out 1.5" so I can use a windshield bag with the stock key location. He's also moving the windshield mounting bolt holes so I have more windsield tilt (if needed).

I bought a tripple windshield bag from Honda and mounted it. In the winter w/ large gloves on, it was a little tough getting to the ignition. I did the ignition re-locate and it's great now.

Thats what I don't want to do is relocate the key. I like the fork lock. I measured the windshield to the head lights and I have almost 2" that's why I am going 1.5". I don't figure that the lights will clear on the windshield BUT we will see I can always make them a little smaller. I have used a tank bag on long trips but don't like anything on my paint.

bags on windshield

I would sure like to see that triple mount honda bags on the windshield. Would like to do the same thing. I bought a triple bag unit suposed to fit on a fairing it has a metal bracket on it I cant seem to get a grip on how to mount it to the rockets full size windshield.

The brackets were made. I wound up moving the windshield out 1.5". With this I was able to mount a Hoppnel triple windshield bag from a Hardley and have plenty of room to reach in to the key. The move did nothing to the wind buffeting. It works great and now I have all the important things in front of me. He also made it so all I have to do is lossen the bolts and slide the windshield up and off.

Herald, How about some detailed pics? Sounds like you've got something there a few of us might like. "quick release? on a roadster screen" sounds good to me. Pics please, and how much (now that he has the pattern).. Congrats, skip

or you can do what I did. I bought a new ignition switch to mount in the relo spot and left the original fork lock/switch in place. Then if I ever want to restore the factory function its only a matter of removing the relo harness and plugging it back to the stock location. It was $110 from the dealer.
...now that was a really smart thing to do. 8)
