Pipes that are free-er flowing ( Louder) will require a retune.... if they flow substantially more .... when My bike was Stock, I drilled out the baffles somewhat to just open it up a wee bit, and only did the 12minute retune and was fine

The simplest thing is to buy the Triumph brand ones and get the dealer to install the appropriate tune....

If you can't wait You could measure the stock pipe, and see how it attaches and see if there is a similar size Slip on muffler (designed for another bike) to replace it...

Or just wait until a couple companies start making slip ons for it, from my trip to Daytona several manufacturers were gearign up to make parts for the R3T....

First, there is ZERO evidence that idle problems are caused by any performance mods.

And Reg is right. Just about any aftermarket pipes will need retune. Selection for the Touring model is pretty limited right now but even so, Triumph should have a tune good enough for whatever you get (tune for TORs).

With all of this being said, I still don't think that Tuneboy has come out with anything for the R3T, and Triumph (from what I can pry from my Service Manager) only has a re-tune for the TOR's. So there is a good chance that if you go with something besides the TOR's, you could have some issues.
I have heard both, and IMOHO I just don't think it is worth the $$ ($900 approx.) If you are going to drop that kind of money, you should be getting something that you are definitely going to be happy with.
Me personally.... I am just going to wait it out for now.
