What year Rocket to buy

Thanks guys. I am now in the market for an 09 or 10. Going to mount my Champion Escort !! Ha !

Best of luck Ray!

I recently purchased an '05 Standard with just under 37K miles. After putting about 500 miles on it, the ignition module wiring went bad. No burnt wires, but I replaced the module and also installed the Eastern Beaver bypass relay. All good now, and what a ride! Lovin' every mile!

My 2005 has been good to me,i'll keep it till it dies.. I didn't fit well on the Roadster and the size of those pipes:(, i liked the touring but there are better options out there for touring models.. I'd say any year between 05-10. One problem i found owning a Triumph there aren't that many dealers out there that are qualified to work on the Rocket. You may have to travel some distance to find one..JMO

The 09 DOES NOT have the repositioned pegs. I am finding that they actually changed this in 2010 along with adding ABS.
there is alot of confusion out there.
does anyone have an 09 with the pegs moved back and down ?
i'd like to see it. every 09 i have looked at has the old configuration.

The first 2 replies in this thread pretty much told you about the foot peg position. Not sure who's confused but it's not us. Some people have swapped them around but it's not as simple as you might think. If you want the Roadster position, simplest thing would be to buy a Roadster. If you want the best pre-roadster model, buy an '09. The 2 models look the same except for the pegs and pipes - and of course the Roadster only comes in black.

i have a 2013 Touring with 32,500 miles on it. Only issue I had was with heated grips I had installed after purchase and the cluth cable broke. It is a xomfortable ride but obviously does not have the guts of a Roadster. Depends if you want all that power or very good powernand a better ride on long distance trips. IMHO:D

Look at the comment on the third thread, I took that as the pegs are moved back and down. I also found on line where the 09 had changed the foot peg position 100mm back and 20mm down, on the MCN site. Look for yourself.

I was thinking a non ABS model, which is an 09 and the pegs positioned more under me than cruiser style forward.

Not to be a thread hijacker but I'm looking at an 06 with 25k miles. Any problems I should look for or expect?
