2008 tour
Im sure the question has been asked before. It is still a hard question for any self repecting red neck.
How to tell when it is wise to trade up or keep what you have. Im sure these bikes should be good for 100,000 miles and probably quite a bit more. I know this bike! Its paid for and doesnt owe me. I know there are maintainence issues. And what about the accessories?
My Dodge truck is a 1999 diesel. The new trucks are shiny but with all the environmental restrictions I am happy with my old rusted truck.
Not really serious about upgrading my 2008 touring , just musing
Thats all.

i own 2 05s, one has 45k miles and still going strong, the other one has 18k, not planning on trading anytime soon, like you said, they are paid for

Like Lupe I also have MBS (multiple bikes) in my collection I have two Rockets a 2005 which I bought new and a 2011 carp Roadster now the 2005 I would like to sell but you cannot give these bikes away

People are afraid of them.

Part of it is because of weight and power.

Part of it is fear of what a previous owner has done with the bike.

But part of it is our canniblistic attitude that so many display about the dealers and the importer.

Something goes wrong and we start complaining even before we've given Triumph a chance to step up (which they nearly always do).

The brands with the best resale are the brands with fewest whiners. Even Honda has warranty issues once in a while. Look at HD or Ducati or even BMW. They all have problems, but whining seems lower to my ear.

Every thing seems to be made disposable. We don't fix stuff any more. I am a repurpeser. I like to look at stuff and see its value. Still havent come up with a date as to when I should expire an object. ie.... If i haven't used it for 6 months then it goes in the trash.

My 05' has about 75,000 miles on it. It's had a few issues but nothing I couldn't fix. I'll keep as long as parts are available to keep it running. I like the chrome of the older Rockets. Not big on the blacked out look.
