Anybody from western NC or Tenn. familiar with Wheeler's Performance Bike Shop north of Robbinsville on US 129 near Deal's Gap? Apparently he does dyno tuning with Tune ECU, Tuneboy, PC, etc.

Watching this one.... I am in Cary NC and have been looking for a tuner also. I have the cables and software to allow me to TuneECU updates - but have seen enough comments here to see that a reliable tuner would be very helpful

Never heard of him personally but he's in range of me for a weekend trip and when i read the words; eddy current dyno, 4 gas analyzer and Tuneecu in thr same paragraph.... lets just say he has caught my attention. @rainman got any info ?

I have ridden by this place many times on the way to the Dragon and Cherohala but didn't know he did dyno tuning. I just spoke with him on the phone and asked about Tune ECU and Rocket 3 and he said yes he is familiar. He did say he would need bike for a day or 2 so I told him I would stop in and discuss. I don't think I will do this while I'm on this trip cuz I plan on doing a lot of riding next week but might leave it and come back in a few days.

If I recall, @Steel has used an "Eddy Current Dyno" before?

The Inertia Chassis Dynamometer and the Eddy Current Brake Chassis Dynamometer are apples and oranges in how they measure torque and calculate horsepower.
I am learning here and from what I have read, they each have advantages and disadvantages. I do not know or understand the operation differences or accuracy of each.
For those like me, wanting to learn more, I did find this conversation informative:
Inertia dyno vs. Load / Brake/Eddy Current/Steady state dyno - The Volkswagen Club of South Africa

@Tbone looking forward to hearing your report on the discussion. As to leaving it for a 'day or 2'. That's got my attention quite a bit less. A day would be one thing, 2 days is a not happening.

The dyno at Xtreme Machines is an eddy current. Supposedly more accurate. I don't know enough about the differences to say, but I know the operator (Tommy) is top notch.

From what I have read, the results are apples & oranges comparisons and not applicable.
The inertia dyno most replicates RWHP to the pavement.
The eddy current dyno is best at fine tuning engines at different constant RPMs.
Just sayin' . . .
