R3 '06,just had the bike out for the first ride of the year :p Now this is not new, heard it last year as well, doesen't seem to hurt the bike:: when riding the back roads and going over bumps and such , I hear clunking noises comming from the power train area ( i think) it happens as I go over the bump or such and my hand rocks the throttle a wee bit. seems like a lot of smahing or crashing, If I go over the same bump or such with my hand off the throttle, it's as solid as a rock?? It souds like gear play or something like that, anyone experience anything like that ??:-? I'm riding about 50 mph, 2000-2500 rpm 4th gear if that makes a difference. 17000 mi. on bike..?? note: I bought this bike used last spring.

I find it hard to beleive that I have the only bike with this problem, maybe I'm not explaining it correctly, On the .net form one suggestion was perhaps the cush dampners?? anyone??

Could also be almost anything else attached to the swingarm. Shocks, low tire pressure, Accessories like bags, sissy bar or backrest. Make sure everything is tight and solid. Then go into the cush and bevelbox. Could be oil level in the bevelbox.
