V-Max Let's get it on

If you took a Hayabusa and geared it so it topped out at the same speed as the Rocket 3 the Suzuki would smoke the Triumph from start to finish!
The Hayabusa makes 40 HP more and weighs 150 lbs. less.
It's simple to predict which bike is quicker.

Personally, I'm done with riding sport bikes and there's no way I'd buy one but the Hayabusa is clearly MUCH FASTER!

Last month's Cycle World had a comparison between pretty much all of the bikes that will eat the Rocket for lunch, such as the 'Busa, the XZ-14, all of the 1000cc+ sport bikes, etc.

Among cruiser's we're king, but, because of weight and gearing, we don't stand a chance against those bikes above. Even adding a turbo or supercharger will only bring us up to maybe even with most of those bikes.

Hmmm... I wonder about 1/8th mile though.. ??

I go to my local drag strip in Wilkesboro, NC on Thursday nights, it is 1/8 mile. I usually go to pick on the local HD shops employees with the V-rods 7.88 @ 83mph. I have an 05 Rocket 3 with cat bypass and TOR's running stock tune (Tune boy will be here this week!!!!!!) anyway I run 7.43 @ 94MPH most sport bikes are running low 7's. I ran a 1000cc sport bike do not recall make but did edge him out. Very interested to see the difference with tune boy mods.

Can't speak for a v-max old or new. Can say a busa ain't got what it takes though. From a dead start for 1/8 mile, its all us. (mines stock, so was the busa) After that his powerband kicks in and we're toast. Thought it may have been the difference in rider ability, so we swapped. My rock still ate me off the line with him on it, but I sure liked that powerband. Never did see it top out tho, had to shut er down because of traffic. for a fact, from a dead stop for the first 1/8 its all us boys..

Your having a laugh . He must have been a poor rider

A dealer that sells SUZUKI, KAWASAKI and YAMAHA dragraced the new MAX againts the BUSA ,ZX14,and B KING all bikes were showroom stock the MAX beat all as all the others are not able to match the MAX off the line and were fighting wheelstands as the max spun the tire a little and drove away and they could not catch it in a quater mile Im sure if the other bikes are modified lowered, legthened, strapped down they would improve but were talking a stock comparison A freind just bought the MAX and he also owns a zx14 and he said the MAX is much easier to bring off the line no wheelies lots of lowend torque a real street racer SO I guess its time to mod the ROCKETS

I think your right. A bud of mine got one, he flew past me while I was getting on it, winding out 4th gear, he flew past me pretty handily.

2 different classes. Like comparing a F1 to a vette

Ill stay with the rocket being the biggest baddest cruiser. Ill leave the racing other classes to the young bucks.

mutt

Japness

Who wants a bike that runs out of gas after a hundred miles or so, isnt versitile and is OVERPRICED by thousands$$$ ? The busa is pretty fun bike (had one) but didnt care for long trips on it, and the quality of finish was worse than rocket.

It's all subjective. Who deems what is overpriced? One person or the target audience the bike was intended for? They are selling like hot cakes at my local shop. A dep on every one that was available. I disagree about the hayabusa. The fit and finish of mine was very good for an $11k bike.
