Unlocking top speed cost yearly?

When increasing the top speed on a 2022 r3, I believe there is a $50 charge. Is that a 1 time charge or do you have to pay that yearly when you renew your TuneECU license? If you have to pay yearly, along with paying to renew TuneECU, BT moto might be a better option for anyone that plans on keeping the bike for 5 or more years.

its for using the app every year,

unlocked maps are also being sold by tuneecu with speed limiter removed

or you can do it by yourself by getting app and buy subscription

I bought the yearly license and put the Penner tune on it. Only way I seen to increase the top speed was manually with an additional cost of $50

You do have to pay the extra $50 but its a one time fee. Once the tune is in your bike, its programed in. Its not like tune ecu has a way to go in and erase that part of the tune if you dont keep paying.

One time fee - the top speed unlock fee
Yearly - the Tune ECU subscription.

If you load the unlocked tune and never play with it again or never need to reflash, you don't need to keep Tune ECU license up to date. The code to speed unlock the bike is in the tune you loaded in. If you never touch it again and don't need to redo it, the bike doesn't care what the status of Tune ECU is.
