Gentlemen,
I am at the crux of a situation... I am thinking about putting a Turbo on the R3T. Does anyone out there think that it might not be mechanically sound with a stock set up; or have you ran into any issues? I have a tune from Wayne that takes it up at least 5 notches.... but I am looking for the other 5. Please just post thoughts or experience if you have or had experience with a R3/R3T turbo setup.
This is what I am thinking of running: http://www.boostisgood.com/RocketIII/index.htm
Thanks,
D.

I don't think the boostisgood kit will fit in a R3T as presently designed, but call Bryan at boostisgood to make sure...

The TTS blower will fit!!!!! You might need to purchase a regular R3 ecu 200.00 bucks at pinwall cycle parts. Its going to boil down to how easy the intake plumbing hooks up I am guessing the blower piping might be easier.

Thats impressive dyno numbers for sure.
Just think, if I'd got a turbo instead of another r3 for the wife,
I could ride really fast,,,
alone.
Sure would like to ride one sometime though, just to feel it.

Hi Mike,
I called Bryan, and he seems to think that it will work.... But, I just got these really nice D&D's, and would like to keep them (also, I want to keep a semi-stock look) What do you think? Would it be possible from your experience? BTW, Really liked your pics! If I end up doing this, I will make sure that I post mine as well.

In a turbo setup, the exhaust drives the blower. What happens to the exhaust after that is irrelavant in terms of the bikes performance. I have a single chrome straight pipe coming off the turbo on the right side. The turbo does the muffling. Bryan has a muffler pipe if the straight pipe is too loud... If the D&D is a slip on, you might be able use one of them in place of Bryans straight pipe... You will have to ask Bryan... Engine, TBs and injectors are the same as a standard R3. You shouldn't have any problem making the same power I do as long as the plumbing fits... I would keep an eye on that rear tire though... I don't think it is as torque worthy the 240 on the regular rocket
