Ride
2007 Rocket III Standard /2010 R3T
My brother in law and I went for about a 200 mile putt on Sunday. He rode my 1992 softail (the one with 130k on the clock) and I on the 2010 R3T. I have not been on the Harley since March 26, when I bought the Triumph. After about 60 miles we stopped for some water. When I came out of the shop, he was on the Triumph. Away we went. WOW. That old (little) bike needs some work! I am spoiled. I guess I'm gonna stay with these monsters for a long time. What a difference. There is no comparison. I love this new ride. You own the rode. Now I still love the Harley but **** these things are comfortable.

My first bike was a 1973 full dresser complete with eight track player, old iron head you had to learn how to work on tools in Saddlebag LOL . But I put a lot of miles on the bike took my road test state trooper could not believe I wanted to take a test on that big thing. But past now I sit on a Harley and it feels like a mini bike, I live in a Harley town but none of them even think about challenging except ****** rockets :D

yep, every tattoo on my body says harley.
Both shoulder blades, both arms, leg,,,,,
They're a nice little bike to start out on,
but a Rocket is in a class by itself.
There's two Rockets between Tulsa and Ponca City.
40 miles South to Tulsa, 60 miles North to Ponca.
Both of those fantastic rides are parked in my carport.
Harleys everywhere, but not 1 will even try to keep up with the rockets.:D:eek:
Triumph vs. harley???
No contest.
except maybe in quality of chrome and accessories available....
But i hope to see some quality Triumph jewelry and assorted other "bling" shortly;)....

Had Harley's for years traded my 07 Fatboy for a 09 vrod Muscle..the 96cu engine of
the Fatboy ran way to hot. Anyways i traded the Muscle for the Rocket and have never
regretted it..i really like this bike and i have had many bikes over the years of all shapes and all size's
When i took her in for her first service they loaned me a new Bonneville and i hadn't been on a Bonneville since the 60s when i was a lot younger than i am now:(

Boy the Rocket makes most bikes feel like a scooter and to be fair to the Bonneville
It went ran pretty well..i kinda upset the service guy..when he asked my opinion
of the Bonneville and i said yeah it's ok but somebody forgot to put an engine in it
Guy's before i get flamed i was only having a laugh ;)

On a more serious note what will we replace the Rocket with..i intend keeping mine
for sometime to come..but that doesn't stop me looking..there's nothing out there at
the moment that i want..but i did read an intresting article in a brit bike magazine off
an interview with the boss of BMW and he said that before he leaves his position
he wants to put the new 1600/6 into a cruiser..that could be worth a look

Well...I went to a Thunderbird but I am eagerly awaiting what Triumph is going to do with the R3T.

Kimmie (My 07 r3 ) will always be in my stable and will be a part of my will and last wishes... It is the bike that I learned to ride on and have to many memories both past and future to ever part with it. but when I can afford another bike it will be a goldwing..... they are bulletproof and comfortable and made for the road trip.

I'm actually thinking of selling my Rocket (in the classifieds at the moment) and getting a Harley. I love my Rocket, but I have no faith in my local service department. I really don't take it in there unless I can't figure the problem out, but when I do take it.. they aren't capable of resolving the problem either and I end up giving them hundreds of dollars for nothing and I'm tired of it. I've given them about $600 for labor over the past couple of years with no results. I'm hoping replacing the spark plug wires will resolve my problem.

There are 4 Harley dealers within an hour of my house, 1 of them 10 mins from where I work. All of them have competent service departments, and the one closest to my work is a really good bunch of people.

No Harley can touch a Rocket performance wise.. but hydraulic lifters reduce maintenance.. there are only 2 plug wires and they don't cost $190.00 and the dealer will have them in stock. There is 1 throttle body.. no synching.. Tires are much less expensive.. etc..

I think we all know that feeling of shelling out the big bucks and getting little for it. I have two brothers with big baggers and the service and repair are not cheap either. Recently, one brother had problems and was quoted about $600 for the repairs and found the total cost was $2500. I think it's just inherent in riding the two wheels no matter what make. But....it's nice to have a competent service dept. when you need it.
I know for sure the Harleys realy burn up in Florida!! While the Rockets
BURN OUT!!:D
