Triple K&N Mod

Oh  Why did you get those...? The bearclaw will not fit w/o serious modification-or not at all...

Not worried about the bearclaw MD was going to cut it to death  just wanted to know what others had on apart from the 2780`s

they are what mine have on jolly exactly the same
you need too angle them so they face forward and its not a problem fitting them that why the have the angled flange

Cheers m8, thought they looked similar to the ones in your pics from oz

Ok here goes, it`s still a work in progress cos i`ve not cut the bearclaw yet and i`m still not convinced with the k&n`s i think there a bit on the large size ? and i`m waiting for the tuneboy to turn up

Jolly,

Did you pick the bigger filters for aesthetic purposes or other reasons?

A bit of both really, the 2780`s that people have fitted under the bearclaw are fine and you will undoubtably get better airflow than the stock set-up, but you`re still hiding them away and restricting the air flow. If you look at rc`s pics these although a fair bit larger look ok when you modify the bearclaw and will give much better airflow in my opinion

2780s work fine and will suck enough air, best to trim the bearclaw to allow hot engine and radiator fan air to exit and not get pulled back into the induction, cool air = more power......... 8)

k/n

jolly----longer, bigger filter is good idea. gets you out in cooler air. elbow at bottom is not! air must turn to get into t.b. bore! every turn loses you air. you lose what you gained. solid filter top is no help. go w/ x stream k&n w/ filter on top. now IT'S out in coolest air ya gonna get! -----here is a good example of filter " under " bearclaw. take a blanket and electric fan outside in full sun.----cut fan on hi. now you get in front of fan and under blanket. THAT's filter under bearclaw. now stick just your hand out from under blanket. cooler ain't it!! your hand IS FILTER OUT IN COOLER AIR!!!! jeez boys.--this ain't rocket science!!!-----------john ---------------------------------note--i used piece between motor and t.b.'s to kick filters out.(stock makes turn too) not filter. my flow from top of filter to head is in a straight line-no turns.
