I actually want MORE noise, not less! I like mechanical whirring and popping and sucking and general clatter, I must be somewhat aurally depraved - I used to run the fastest Caterham 7 in England (possibly the world) back in the day, and it won the Autocar 0-100-0 mph sprint in 1992, used to be fun decelerating hard at bus stop lines, the beast put out quite a flame at shin height! - there is nothing quite like an all steel Cosworth 2 litre BDG on cam, fuel injection and all Quaiffe straight cut gears doing the business! Marvelous! The closest I have ever come to repeating that experience is with my Rocket III, so have gone with a GIPro, being installed next week, throttle butterfly attention, getting rid of the cat, keeping the tors, and a few other bits n pieces, but the mod I have really been hankering after is velocity stacks. My friendly local mechanic is chopping down a bear claw next week for another Captain and fitting triple k and ns, but I want the retro look and more intake noise - I'll go along and check out his work (he said he cuts it down by eye) and I've never heard the III k 'n' ns so defo want to check out the setup (I may end up with it eventually if the Raasks do not work out) - anyhoos I've bitten the bullet and ordered the Raask kit from Sweden via the USA importer Rob Ward (Omar's DTR 925-429-6277 $240 + shipping, if you want a set too get in quick as he's putting in a large order very soon) - I've spoken to Silvert Raask via email and this is what he had to say...
Hi Andy, I don´t have foams the stacks but I think you can fit something
over the net by clamps. The hole in the net are very small. I have over 5000
miles
on my own RIII even in rain, no problem sofar.
If you need more nfo Andy, please let me know.
Best regards.
Sivert Raask.

Yes I am taking a risk with badgers voles seagulls etc getting sucked in, but I live on the beach, clean air pretty much, haven't seen any sandstorms yet, little rain down here compared to England, I think I'll be OK - will have to completely remove the bear claw I think and rig up some nice upholsterer's gubbins around the edge of the tank ... the same kind of edging around my CF shorty helmet from that Co in Orlando, piccies here of the III Raasks...
Will look into some sort of foam protection asap too...
