Travel Plans for RDU

Saturday Compromise- Don't Worry Be Happy

I'm being realistic here for the sake of everyone's nerves and temperament.

This is the first Rocket ride I've put together and it's a learning curve for all of us, with what we like, what we want to do, and for that matter the public response we actually get.

Now bearing this in mind, would you believe the best public response I have got personally is from three tow truck owner drivers who will put three different rigs off the road that two will be on display, one for a stage. The three blokes concerned are hitting their contractors up car and truck sales to try and get a good dollar for their efforts. (Fingers Crossed).

Taking in to account that we no one can gage what public response and turn out numbers will be. So I have thought the best way we can do this.

Gates open 8am have a few things to put in place.

Advertised open for public 10am.

I think we should start the auction between 11am & definitely no later the 12pm.

After Auction we do the trophy presentation.

This way especially for some that have travelled a bloody long way, that if numbers are not what we would like in a perfect world change of plan to suit public response.

In reality the major two things being the auction, and bike show presentations. If we had access to enough power I had arranged for a band to keep every one entertained, but we only have access to 3 X 10 amp power outlets.

Taking this into account it's quite possible after people have a look, bearing in mind that other events are on such as Cancer relay for life & weekend sporting fixtures, people may desert us quite quickly.

If this is what happens, Cathy & I are committed for the day, but if there is bugger all people and the event dies in the arse early, then I have no doubt that some of you will want to go for a ride, and in all fairness I honestly can't say I wouldn't want to do the same.

So if things die in the arse early, we will have the auction, show, and trophy presentation over by I honestly think by 2pm, then we play it by ear after that, still not to late to go for a ride.

Hope this makes every one happy.

Bottom line this has been frustrating in organising, trying to cater to everyone's interest especially as most of us have never met. When you get on your bikes don't pack your frustrations let's just have a bloody good time, as I know we all will.

Just finished sorting the bike out under lights in the front yard. Time to pack the bag, tidy the house and get some shut eye and head off to meet Mal and drop past Cobba to say gday from us all. F@.ck I wish I was asleep! uploadfromtaptalk1347279957058.jpg

Whilst I never met Cobba in person had quite a few chats on this forum. Victoria RDU 2014 Cobba's home town.

Friday night discussion;

Another Idea under the RDU forum what do you all think of having a memorial thread to post picture's and testimonials for fallen brother captains in Australia.

Yeah, I like it. But if I croke it, just tell everyone how big a c@@t I was. Not nice to tell the truth when I can't defend myself.
