@v*twin first it is probably the gasket but there are usually two or three bolts that people miss. Anyway yours is a 05 in which there could have been two different types of some plates both work but the newer styles differences are mainly where the pick up screens are located/ My guess is to have one on each side of the engine so no matter which way your leaning the bike there will be oil in a screen. (Just my speculation though) anyway here is a couple pictures of the two styles and in Yellow the bolt locations 21 in each so count your bolts. In the newer style (painted Black) you will see three locations with two Yellow circles around them. These are the ones that usually get miss when the bike is right side up they are hard to see.
Also marked with red arrows are areas you can get a pry bar between the block and sump to loosen her up the gasket holds glue the first time.
Now if these are not the bolts your taking off then I suspect your trying to split the engine
