With the sissy bar on it will be hard to install a hard trunk on rack, I don't think anyone has posted pics of a hard trunk with the sissy bar. A few owners have installed the HD tour pack using the stock rack as a mounting point, but use back rests mounted on tourpack rather than bar. The mutazu (spelling?) trunk also seems popular.

For my 09R3T I use a soft bag that fits over the sissybar and straps to rack. It is very secure and water proof. Its big enough (with panneirs) to hold gear for 2 for a week. or 1 for a month - the wife packs a lot.

the setup that worked best for me was just throwing a duffle bag back there and ratchet-tie-down-ing everything in place....... cost: free

My solution was the Kuryakyn
full dresser bag.

It's huge, weather proof cover, easy on and off, has wheels and pull handle, and relatively inexpensive.

Hi trophyrider I am just fitting a Givi box to my R3T ,i have taken off the sissy bar and removed the back rest ,drilled the givi and fitted the rest to the box .We are going on a1000 mile trip in early April the other half is going to let me know how good it works(if it's not right she will let me know alright) will post some photos when the rain has gone...

Removable Givi box, custom mounted, holds two full-faced helmets or helmet and jacket.

Removable hard side boxes from a Yamaha; custom mounted.

Although my bike is set up solo the Givi box has a pad that can be mounted as a backrest for the back rider.
