top speed and gas mileage

I was playing with my Dobeck the other day.
Didn't alter the way she ran, but my MPG went up from 21 to 25...
This was just before I got whupped by that Busa.
I'm pretty confident she'll still out run any v-twin I run into tho

Gas mileage

Not that it matters much but my tank runs dry@ about 190 miles. I get another half mile if I lean left a few times . Lol **** low fuel light comes on @ 80 miles so I forget. Duh

petrol range

Twice now i've been testing how far I can go on a tank of petrol trying not to run out of course,both time the low fuel light comes on about 110 miles and i've gone up to 160 miles on the trip meter before refilling,
(one ride was two up,the other was solo hammering it down duel carriage ways)
Both times I got approx 17 litres in till full , I had about 6 litres approx left in the tank so this tells me I should get over 200 miles approx before running out,hope this may be of interest to someone ,cheers.
p.s had up to 130mph before a car got in the way on private land .

I've been using 200 miles as my refill asap mark, it typically leaves me with much less than a gallon but never less that 1/3 while on a long trip. Of course I can't trust that method around town or over several days ... I rely on the low light for that. I finally got the light to come on with just under 2 gallons left, it took bending the float twice to get it where I was somewhat happy with it. When the bike was new it was coming on with more than 4 gallons still in it ... VERY annoying.

I've went 197mi on a tank put in 5.2 gal that is 37.8

And it's not even close!

But the R3 is Funnnnn! no question there!!

Gas mileage on the R3 is CRAPPY !, CRAPPY, CRAPPY - no question about it!!

In the previous post I did on this thread I left out that I got 38.5 mpg...I think the Rocket runs better at "steady" high speeds.

I don't remember the mileage but when I did my Key West to Molino, FL run I went all the way to the southeastern side of Lake Okeechobee (from Key West) before I refilled with only .3 gallons left in the tank...just about running on fumes.

Now I'm curious. Who's running 89 octane & who's running 91 or higher octane? I've been running nothing but 91 & I'm getting about 35 mpg.
