top speed and gas mileage

The Triumph manual states that the bike requires 95 RON unleaded. It is my understanding that this is the equivalent of 91 octane used in the U.S. and Canada on the AKI scale. As a result I've been using 91 octane to fill up. What are other Rocketeers using?

that does seem hard to believe. aren't your gallons smaller than ours ? the other weekend me and a mate on his classic were 20mls from home when a bloke on an r1 wanted to play. now i don't pretend to be the best rider in the world and i don't think he was either, he managed to get between us and we were wheel to wheel the whole way home (few straight bits plenty of bends). point is me and my buddy were in the very low 20's to the gal. we were doing silly m.p.h but not 141mph.

Seen 140 mph on mine..on a private road of course ;) but i believe that the speedo
is out by about 7% is that correct..Don't know what gas mileage i get..when she needs
fuel i put it in..but mostly she's not to bad..still very fond of her :D

It's a low compression engine, mine runs best on the cheap stuff. Experimented with higher octane and it caused slight roughness and hesitation.

I did 228 miles on one of my tanks of gas on the way to Nashville in 07...we were doing around 85 to 95 most of that particular part of the trip...would have gone faster maybe but we were b'sitting a Harley that was riding with us....I think Dave wanted to go faster as he passed me once like he was giving me a hint...that's when we started doing 95 or so.
