As I am getting closer to 500 miles (I'm around 450 now) I am pushing the bike a little more and more, short of completely opening her up, to make sure everything really gets seated. So this morning I have a great opportunity to open her up a bit and get through 1st and 2nd without issues. 3rd gear comes along (this bikes stock power is very impressive) and I am waiting for the revs to go up....

I am not a fan of someone else determining what I can and cannot do on my bike. I have read on here that the limiter is in place because of the stock tire rating. In my opinion Triumph needs to match the bikes abilities with their tire selection. I understand that overall price is taken into consideration, and trust me when I say I am very happy with the price I paid, but I would have happily paid an extra $100-$300 if the bike came with a higher rated tire and no limiter.

The bike comes with ME880s. I ran the same tires on my VTX1300 for a long time and although it took longer to get up in the 110+ range I never had any issues with the tires. What can be done? How do we remove the limiter?

what is the tyre spec on the side of your rear tyre? e.g. 180/70 R16 77H

hi I was lead to believe the speed restriction was in place due to the amount of air and instability generated by pushing around a big ass ranch slider type window up front...

I'm sure it was, redline in 5th gear on mine is 238 mph now, but above 130 or140, it develops a scary weave, like it's rotating back and forth along it's longitudinal axis. Never got out of hand, but disconcerting at those speeds. Like to try it without the bags and windshield some time.

110 in third might have been the rev limiter, pretty sure mine would do 120 or so before I started modifying it?

At about 3500 miles, I had derestricted, opened exhaust and added ramair. I had an opportunity to put my feet on the rear pegs and head on the tank. Let it rip til about 145mph. Held it a little longer and let off. It was still climbing when I ran outta balls. Haven't held it like that again. Darkside has a weave at about 110 or so it keeps me in line. So good luck and enjoy the new power once you unlock the ecu's extra power and speed.

I had shifted her into 4th but the little lady wouldn't do more than 110. I should be ordering my TuneEcu cable very soon. As of today I rolled past 500 miles and will likely perform the first maintenance this weekend.
