I find the pegs scrape a lot as it is and moving them forward puts them closer to the corning radius and therefore shortens the distance between the ground and the pegs. It won't be by much but the bottom engine rail tapers down to the front amplifying the potential problem. 2 solutions are to shift pegs up and forward, or maybe (more expensively) raise the rear suspension a little.

Be carefull mr hunt I used to scrape mine alot had the left peg ground to a sharpe point down to the rubber but the peg rail started scraping on the right angle bend up the front and it don't fold up like the footpegs. Long story short I kept ignoring it accelerating hard through corners with the footpeg folded up to the stop and the peg rail grinding away. One Sunday morning while doing this up a mountian range north of Brisbane I hit the apex of a corner left elbow and shoulder just clearing the white posts I got on the throttle hard and layed it over a bit more. This lifted the front wheel of the road and down we went. Lesson learned.

Triumph most likely saw the problem that they had a great handling motorcycle that had a potential to go lower but couldn't because of the floor boards. They changed that for the better on the Roadster. To far forward is a position that's for touring bikes and laid back cruisers. In some magazines I have seen they put the Roadster in the "naked bike" category rather than the "cruiser" category. Even though Triumph calls it a cruiser it does look like a naked bik.


It's really according who you ask. You like floor boards so it's not going to be "better" or "good" for you. I don't like floor boards so I think it's perfect. So Triumph......in fact.... did something that made it better.
