The Things We Do For Love

Getting back to working on and riding the bike lately has really been good for me. And as much as I'm eager to keep going both with getting the maintenance up to date and some eventual mods, there's something hanging over me I can't ignore any longer… money.

I had mentioned in another post that we went full-time RVing for 18 months. Well the fifth wheel and truck are still sitting around—the RV unused, the truck the world's most expensive grocery getter. It's past time to sell both. While I'll continue to chip away at my backlog of Rocket work a bit each day, getting things sold will take priority until that's done. It will put me in a far better place to give the Rocket the love it deserves.

So my question is, what sacrifices (financial or otherwise) do you make now, or have you made in the past, to own a bike & keep riding?

I work about 50 hours a week to pay for my toys. Fortunately, I kinda enjoy troubleshooting and machine repair.

I work around the same sometimes more especially at the end of the month. Very seldom get a day off but after about 3 weeks and no real bike to ride due to maintenance, upgrades and waiting on parts( got all the parts monday) I ask for 4 days off and got it. The plant manager wanted to know if I needed any help. This kind of puzzled me a bit. After asking what he meant his response kind of corresponded with the home life here lately. He commented that the longer I go without a good ride the more of a #sshole i become. Really going to enjoy the week off and got a good start on the bike. Not rich at all by any means but do alright for myself. No mortgage, no kids, and wife gets a real good retirement income. Very thankful to have a good steady job, A wife who understands me and knows my passion for motorcycles. In a nutshell " MY HAIR'S TURNING WHITE,MY NECK IS ALWAYS BEEN RED AND MY COLLAR'S STILL BLUE. Not much else to say. IMG_0160.JPG IMG_0066.JPG Do like to stay in high dollar hotels and love the food offered at such.
