Worry about transmission detent pop out first. That should be your priority first. I only say this because the longer you operate it with it popping out of gear and back in . The better the chances of you learning how to pull the engine and split it open. Any power modifications will quicken the deteriation. Besides it a big waste of money especially if the mods are laying on the shelf next to a torn down bike. After you get the shifting right then you can piss your money away on power mods. And other goodies.
 
Welcome, an 08 touring, you got a good one, as stated above get that clutch/tranny issue sorted, just to verify the clutch is adjusted correctly here is how I do it using warps method, mine will have some of the same issues when it’s not 2 to 3 mm, more or less and she’s not right. When adjusted correctly it should be smooth as butter if not warp explained what will probably need to happen. Grab cable at feral as in picture and pull while in neutral and warm.
