The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

I only made a general statement that I liked BMWs because they didn't have chrome, I'm well aware of the 1200c, I almost bought one from the local Harley dealer till I found out it made about 60 hp.

Which was the same as a Harley Evo at the time. One of the acknowledged failures was timing. BMW tried to get into the cruiser market just when the cruiser HP race began and they clearly missed out. It really is fun to ride and is very torquey. Some guys in the C fraternity have installed ECU controllers but most found it was a waste of time. Those are Bub pipes on mine.

It just complements my little stable. Rocket on the wide open highway and my little 1200 for running around town. It truly gets a lot of attention whenever I stop for gas or groceries and, like the typical BMW, has a 200,000 mile engine.

And BTW, they are referred to in the BMW world as Chromeheads. :)

I did the ride last year rode the rocket because mine says in the side that it's a CLASSIC and another turned up on his X.

Here in NZ it's more about taking part and raising a few dollars for the cause.
