I had an appointment to get a custom saddle for my 2008 R3T this morning. Mother Nature had other ideas though as it snowed early this morning, about one inch. It might as well been two feet as far as I'm concerned. I've been on the ground sliding behind my bike in 1/8" of powder so I didn't hesitate to call & cancel.
With the impending loss of my job in 6 months I decided not to reschedule for a later date. I need to pool all my resources including moving into a studio apartment. I hope I can find one in a good location. I've already cut off my cable, my land line phone and even switched to Clear wireless broadband. These three changes saves me $135 a month. I hope to save up to $300 a month with the studio apartment. All this in an effort to survive & keep the R3T. My initial bike service was done last week & the cost folded into my initial financing so I don't have to concern myself about the bike for 10,000 more miles.
Times are tough and in 3 more months I'll turn 60 and become vested at 100% of my pension at Intel before the layoff. This might be my last ever job if my early retirement plans work out.
