I had an appointment to get a custom saddle for my 2008 R3T this morning. Mother Nature had other ideas though as it snowed early this morning, about one inch. It might as well been two feet as far as I'm concerned. I've been on the ground sliding behind my bike in 1/8" of powder so I didn't hesitate to call & cancel.

With the impending loss of my job in 6 months I decided not to reschedule for a later date. I need to pool all my resources including moving into a studio apartment. I hope I can find one in a good location. I've already cut off my cable, my land line phone and even switched to Clear wireless broadband. These three changes saves me $135 a month. I hope to save up to $300 a month with the studio apartment. All this in an effort to survive & keep the R3T. My initial bike service was done last week & the cost folded into my initial financing so I don't have to concern myself about the bike for 10,000 more miles.

Times are tough and in 3 more months I'll turn 60 and become vested at 100% of my pension at Intel before the layoff. This might be my last ever job if my early retirement plans work out.

I certainly do hope things work out for you Bob. Times are getting tougher all over.
I'm in the ****e and so are lots of others. It may sound lame, but things always work themselves out. :D

With any luck intel will offer a buy out for retirees and hopefully you will fall within the criteria. Good luck hope all goes well. I glad to hear your trying to keep the rocket! That means more pics! yeah!:D

Well lets hope this new guy does what he says he will and turn this economy around or we are all in for some ruff times.

Keep your head up Bob.

I have been through this many times before. I was one of 10,000 laid off by McDonald Douglas in 1991. I was one of 5,000 when Avondale Mills, third largest textile mill in the world, closed their doors forever in 2006. My plab "B" would have me retire early at age 62 after milking unemployment benefits, my 401K & my separation money. Either way, I'm a survivor.

Now your talking:cool:

Bob, I pray with you. Bob, I pray we all can survive what it coming. Many won't!

There are so many realizations that must come. I'm afraid I still need more understanding as to why and how things come to pass.

God be with you Bob and everyone.

There are a few Commonwealth developments around the country. The concept is worth considering. In so many regards I admire the Amish. But at times you have to resort to fire power
