anyone using a tank bag and the leather bib?

I need a tank bag, but don't want to remove my leather bib cause its AFU underneath the bib..

looking for soemthign magnetic, not too huge but a place to toss some stuff and hold a map etc...

want to be able to easily fill up at the pumps, the old tank bag I tried that was great for my Sprint didn;t work so well on the rocket...

It's a Cortech but the bag doesn't have a model on it. The two I saw at the dealership where I purchased it had the same "footprint" but one expanded as high as the Empire State Building. This one is expandable by about 4 inches at the front tapering down toward the rear. It has large map pocket so you can have two sections of a standard map exposed. It has several handy pockets inside and good strong magnets. It does not move, especially wedged against the tank cover pocket. If fits perfectly.

My recommendation is to be mindful of the underside material. The one I used on my Xcountry ride marred the tank so badly I had to have it professionally buffed. It had a rough neoprene while this one has a very soft foamy type rubber. Best way I can describe.

I believe it came with a rain cover but I can't seem to lay my hands on it right now to confirm. I bought it last year some time. I've never needed it though. It seems to keep things dry even in driving rain. Cost was $69.00

sounds good!!

my motopak tank bag was perfect for my Sprint, but way too large on the rocket, comes down to the seat almost

I believe that's the mini tank bag, I can't tell for sure. I have the super mini tank bag.

I had to get the super mini to put under the chrome piece that on the tank of the r3t. There was just enough room for it to fit under the chrome but not up against my legs. Remember, the R3T has a big bit of chrome on on the tank that the others do not.

I believe you are correct. It comes with both the strap mount and the magnetic. I highly recommend the magnetic. It also has a nice carrying strap at the front which I use to secure it to handlebar mount, not that it is really needed. The only thing I use it for is refueling. I just let the bag hang by the strap when refueling.

Would you happen to have a picture of the bag mounted on the R3T? I am currently thinking about an R3T purchase and the lack of tank bag possibilities is something that worries me.

Cheers.
Here ya go...

Yeah, my bike is dirty.
The bag fits perfectly. If it was any bigger, it wouldn't stick to the tank on the touring.
It works perfectly, easy to open and close with one hand, sticks well to the tank, it just has to be placed below that piece of plastic chrome. It's big enough to hold my wallet, 2 cell phones, camera, set of keys, and portable xm radio. With all of that in there, it only fills the bag about 1/2 way up. There is a small ear phone hole in the right side to run my ear phones out.

My only real complaint is the map pocket, the snap that holds it in place on the bottom is weak. if it didn't have the big velcro strip, it would be flopping around every where.

The map pocket is also small... with the size of the bag, it's obviously not big enough to put an actual map in there, but it holds written directions just fine. I normally go to google or map quest and copy down the directions I need and it works fine.

I'm going to have someone custom make a bib for me. The Triumph one is just not working out.

I'm going to rotate the pocket and add a second one just above it, one for my wallet, the other for whatever.

I'm also going to add 6 loops that will hold spark plugs.
