I installed a Chrome plate frame with integrated tail light/running light, turn signals and plate light.

However - I kept the stock turn signals as well as you can not be too visible IMHO!
diagram with the wiring looks a bit confusing; what the install difficult...splicing wires etc?

The instructions look better than most to me. Best way to splice with ease and confidence is Posi -lock connectors. Not cheap but save you hours.

This product is designed and intended for use as auxiliary lighting only. It is NOT intended to replace any original equipment lighting installed on the vehicle and should not be used for that purpose. This product must be wired so that it does not interfere with any original equipment lighting. Wiring - (see Diagram on next page)

Installation:
1. Mount license plate frame in desired location with the provided hardware. You may need to notch license plate to allow for wires to pass though, use heat shrink to protect wires from any sharp edges on plate mount.

2. Route wiring to suitable location for tapping into the bikes signal wiring. Take care to secure wiring so that it is not vulnerable to being pinched, pulled, cut or frayed.

3. Connect all Black wires to good ground.

4. Connect the white wire to12VDC running light power source.

5. Connect Red wire to12VDC brake wire. If Dual Converter is to be used, connect red wire on the TruFLEX® to the single red wire side of the dual converter. Connect red wire on opposite end to brake power source and the orange to 12VDC running light source.

6. Connect the yellow wires to the left and right positive turn signal feed from the flasher. Use a meter or test light to confirm correct wires.

7. Check operation of the TruFLEX® Integrated Plate Frame for running, brake and left and right turn signals.

Diagram depicts the wiring color codes for a typical Harley-Davidson wire harness, when installing on other makes, please refer to your owners manual or service manual for the appropriate wire color codes.

Use a meter and or test light to determine wire function if the former is not available. Not for use with bikes without a center tail light.

If using with a Run Brake Turn Controller, the product must be installed before the RBT signal for correct operation.
