Swing Arm Install - got it done!

Pulled engine and now putting it together. I slipped the driveshaft into the bevel gear drive and turned shaft to verify it was engaged. Then I slid the swing arm back into original position while engaging the splines onto the engine output shaft. But it doesn't want to slide completely in place. It has about an inch to go. Any suggestions? My plan is to keep coaxing it, but, so far, it has dug in its heels.

Manual says to mate driveshaft into the gearbox output shaft first, slide the swing arm in over the driveshaft into place, then yoke the final drive / bevel box on last. Are you using a different method?

Yeah, you're right. After posting, I took the extreme measure of looking in the service manual. Put the shaft on 1st, then swingarm. It worked. I did turn the drive gear a little so the driveshaft settled into the rear drive unit. It's the reverse of how it came out. makes sense. Thanks.
