Hi there, looking to purchase a 2025 Storm GT - will likely buy from a California dealership. Assume it will have a charcoal canister installed. From what I read about it, there is no downside, unless there is a tip over and the canister floods with gas. With that in mind, has anyone removed the canister from a newer model Rocket 3? If so, any guidance would be appreciated!

If it's anything like KTM's charcoal canisters you'll need a dongle and bypass kit to stop an error code coming up when the canister is removed. Rottweiler make kits for KTM, maybe they do for Triumph as well.

If you leave the solenoid valve connected, you shouldn’t get an error code. The kit for the 2020-2024 models is here

The P3 kit looks identical to this one.
It says that the kit is not compatible with US and Canadian bikes as they have a specific Evap system. Whether that's merely a legal disclaimer or there's a technical difference between American and European models I don't know but it might be worth checking out first if you're stateside.

I don’t believe it’s incompatible. They may not ship to the US or California in particular because of EPA/CARB regs.

Why would you want to remove the canister, if it's well hidden? I have removed them before on my BMW, but was only because they looked god awful ugly
in the way they placed them on the bike.

So I just removed the AIS stuff, and I want to get rid of the charcoal canister on the right side. I guess I have to plug the intake/ vacuum line, and find the overflow and vent line and run them down to the bottom of the bike. Anything else? Anybody do it? This seems like the only thread that came up in a search

You either leave the solenoid connected or install the plug (above).

I took out the AIS solenoid and installed blocking plates. I put in the resister plug. Now i just want to get rid of the big canister and clean it up under the tank. I'm just wondering if anybody knows which hoses are which on the canister. I think I saw two in front and one in the rear. But I'm not sure. I guess if I pull out the canister I'll be better able to see where the hoses go.
