Got my '06 Classic a little over a year ago and one of the first things I did was use Tune ECU to open the secondaries up all the way. Enjoyed the extra power in the first 3 gears this way, but in the past few weeks I've been having a bit of the very common high idling problem. Been shutting it down and restarting whenever it gets really bad (sticking at over 2k rpm), but decided to load a tune closer to the stock one to see if it helped, so yesterday I loaded the 20020 full power tune listed under the classic ones on the TuneECu site. Turns out it isn't full power, as it has the secondaries functioning in gears 1-3. I loaded it anyway and I rode 2 up all day without having any of the high idle problems. It also (understandably) smoothed the bike out at low speeds (throttle not so sensitive) and I enjoyed it much more for the cruising type of riding I do with the wife aboard. I sacrificed low gear power, of course, but I only really get on it when I'm riding alone.
So, my questions to you guys are:
1. Did the high idle prob disappear because I reset the idle stepper and tps after loading the new tune?
2. Will I mess up the ECU if I frequently swap the tune to enable the secondaries when I want to ride more cruiser-like?

Any input is appreciated, and man, I love this beast.

More likely cos you reset the TPS as your last step in loading the tune. My only concern while not such problem on short rides is the tune smoothed out the response because it is leaner..... Take it to dyno or get P/Comander or dobeck to richen up your fueling you don't want to be doing any long trips with that tune till then. Also you can still adjust your secondary in the tune and reload it but that's going to lean it up, personally I would be reload the tune you had and when you reset the TPS no more high idle
