Stebel Nautilus question for anyone who has seperated the horn from the compressor ..

I have a similar setup and my horn is plenty loud. Sounds like they may have the hose pinched off somewhere.

Many thanks but hose isn't piched as they have tested it loose over the outside of the bike, not fitted.

Use a plastic pipe.

Many thanks, the dealer has currently used rubber pipe of thick 4mm guage that is so stiff it is difficult to bend. He can't think where he might get plastic pipe. It would help if he knew the primary purpose of the plastic pipe that he needs to look for.

Did they fit a relay ? ( I know...relays relays relays )

Many thanks. The dealer fitted the relay that came with the horn. He says that this should prevent any possibility of switch burn-out rather than ensure current. To guarantee current he has doubled up on wiring feed to the compressor.

Have you tried removing the hose and putting the horn back on the compressor to see if it work? or with a very short pipe? Your dealer will probably have a short pipe.

Yes when connected directly to the compressor it is plenty loud

I beg your pardon ! There are a lot of us "short piped" guys who are up-standing members of the community !

Seriously though, what size pipe are you using ? I believe mine is 3/8" I.D. When I first tried it after I separated it, I had 6' of hose between the two and still didn't notice any difference in volume.

Back to topic!!! Just used clear plastic tubing on mine (bike!) about three feet of it, works perfectly.
