Stebel Nautilus question for anyone who has seperated the horn from the compressor ..

I would mount it up front anyway and not separate it. If you look at my signature pic you can make out part of the Steble tilted back and facing forward. I extended the horn cover out 30mm and the scull not only scares cars it stops rain flowing in to it at speed. You can even use the original horn mount.

I see no reason why it works when attached to the compressor, but won't work when separated..
That makes no sense at all.
I did mine, used a piece of cheap clear hose, attached it to the compressor.
wait a minute,
I had to attach something to my compressor a nipple I think,
then the hose to that,
with the other end going to the trumpet.
Did this dealer put a nipple in the compressor or just shove the hose down in the hole and hope for the best.
I put mine in with JB Weld, then stuck the hose on it, used a clamp to make sure all the air went through the hose,
and I got all the horn anyone needs.

As Skip stated you will need a 5/16 barbed hose coupling (mine was brass, and I got it at Home depot) on the horn side. I used 5 minute epoxy to hold mine in.
One thing I noticed is that when you seperate it from the compressor you have to use zip ties to mount it.
I originally put a zip tie around the center of the horn between the diafram and the plastic trumpet part.
When I hit the horn it was weak due to the fact the diafram couldn't vibrate properly.
To solve this problem I drilled 2 holes in the bottom front part of the horn and used a zip tie to hold it down.
Now it works properly. If you would like I can post a pic to explain better.
