I don't have a R3, but i have it's baby brother the Thunderbird 1700. I posted here because I've tried to proper forums for my model but no answers, and since they should share most basic things ECU/EFI related, i thought i'd try here. I had a custom tune with sensors disabled and used it for about 5 months. Bike has 17k on it and to date has never had the slightest starting issue. Hit the button and in less than a second it's up and running. Well, i plugged the sensors back in and loaded triumph's stock 1700/tors tube that i had before this custom tune and since then it's had a starting issue. I then reloaded the same map, tho from a fresh download in case the file had gotten corrupted or something, then did the 12 minute tune. Still no joy. Bike runs perfect otherwise. the starting issue is that when totally cold (sitting for at least 10 hours, usually more) about 50-75% of the time it will fire but only idle maybe 2-3 seconds then die. Can't get it to idle unless i rev it a bit or hold the throttle open a hair for 20 -30 seconds. I have ridden it several hundred miles since and like i said also did the 12 MT and no joy. Map sensor tubes are solid and no engine malfunction light and runs perfect. Any ideas what could cause this?
