I have had an intermittent problem for a couple of months. It is becoming more frequent and as a result, more worrying.

Under hard acceleration I get a split second loss of drive followed by the usual manic acceleration. It can happen as I start to accelerate or midway through racing through the rev range. It rarely happens during quarter throttle smooth acceleration, but it is not unknown.

At first I thought it was a momentary electrical glitch, but I am becoming convinced the splines are jumping. Is this possible and if so has anyone else had something similar?

Bare in mind, when I say hard acceleration, I mean fkn hard acceleration.

The bevel box is a sealed unit, Triumph won't let their dealers split em, so it's not like you can crack it open and have a squint.

I'm not sure if it is the rear, or some other part of the drive train.

This is what mine was doing when it was slipping out of second under power, it was cured with upgrade to tranny.

Perds, not meaning to steal your problematic post; however I presumed, from the title, you had found a new girlfriend and were having a probem with her snatchy rear end!
