Shifting R3T Sounds Awful

How many miles on the bike. I remmeber mine having a clunk in it until she broke in but not a loud clang.
And Goth is right you can have the right free play and not enough pull rotation on the lifter shaft. As well as what peter stated not enough free play will end up wearing or breaking you lifter shaft . to much pull rotation plus no free play can aslo break the lifter piece as the lifter shaft rotates to much and the bottom of the groove will hit the lifter piece trying to flex it but hardened parts do not flex very well.
remember the cable sheath length is also adjustable. There is more envovled to the clutch pull/actuating system then meets the eye.

I like to check for free play on the actual clutch lever itself on the left front crankcase. I reach down and check free play directly on it.
